"In December, we finished the first (if you don't count the prototype) Nominet Trust Academy. A 16 week, one week on, one week off programme, for any Nominet Trust funded project to attend. The main purpose of the Academy was to create a learning environment that would build the capacity of participants’ projects to be scaled and/or sustained.
As part of Internet Week Europe, education company General Assembly held a week-long event entitled European Buffet. My lovely funder for the Digital Assistant Academy, the Nominet Trust, kindly paid for me to attend the first day’s event on Digital Business Models.
At the end of 2010, CDI Apps for Good received a grant from Nominet Trust to develop an e-learning and networking platform to support and scale the Apps for Good programme. The funding provided for an 18-month project scope and build of our organisation’s first product. The project taught me valuable lessons about product management, particularly when building a product essential to your organisation’s survival.

The Digitally Sorted project equips young people aged 12-15 with the skills they need to survive in, and make a positive contribution to, an increasingly digital world. Students at Penrice Academy and Bodmin College have taken part in a series of workshops and training activities exploiting the use of innovative technologies relevant to young people’s needs.
