DIGITALLY SORTED AT PENRICE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Over the course of the project Ambassadors and role models from the business community will be providing ‘real world’ information on current and future business use of new technologies, promoting good practice as well as working with the pupils to produce digital resources. Companies involved include:- Redfuse Internet, Yan-Tan-Tether, Leap, Kernow Pods, Jarrang, Firetext Communications at Superfast Cornwall.
“Digitally Sorted is a programme which seeks to equip young people aged 12-15 years with the skills they need to survive in, and make a positive contribution to, an increasingly digital world,” said Kate Whetter, Education Projects Manager at Cornwall Education Business Partnership, who is co-ordinating the project.
“We are delighted to have the support from Nominet Trust and the local business community to make this project possible.”
“We were delighted that Penrice was chosen to take part in Digitally Sorted as we are keen to support young people’s talents and enthusiasm for IT as well as recognizing the importance of maintaining a positive Digital Footprint,” said Eileen Dunwell Head of Faculty for Business and Enterprise at Penrice.
