Hi-tech firm aims to take fear out of our daily lives

TWO psychiatrists have teamed up with a software developer in Nottingham to launch a business which is developing a range of mobile "apps" to help people cope with anxiety disorders.

Virtually Free, which is based in the Broadway Business Centre, in the Lace Market, has already developed an application to help people with arachnophobia – the fear of spiders.

But they have now secured £50,000 from an investment trust to help them develop an app which would help sufferers of agoraphobia, an anxiety disorder that can make people feel uneasy and uncomfortable in public places.
