Nominet announces Internet Awards 2012

The Nominet Internet Awards 2012 are now open for entries.

These annual awards recognise and raise awareness of UK businesses, charities, individuals and public and private sector organisations that are making a difference on, or through, the internet.

The awards highlight projects that embrace the internet and tackle the challenge of making the internet a secure, open, accessible and diverse experience for all. Last year’s winners included the Silver Surfers initiative for helping older people to get online, a web TV station for young British dads and an online tool to help schools review their e-safety policies.

The 2012 award categories are:

  1. Most innovative internet business
  2. Online training and education
  3. Protecting users from crimes or online threats
  4. Charitable or not-for-profit work online
  5. Online public services & information
  6. Outstanding contribution to the UK Internet

More details about the awards and how to enter can be found here

Entries must be submitted by 12 April 2012 and will be reviewed by an independent panel of judges. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 5 July 2012.
