Theatre in Education Cyber-bullying play

Full House Theatre Company are pleased to announce that their Theatre in Education Cyber bullying project A Little to the Left of Centre is now on tour in twenty Bedfordshire Schools in January and February 2012 thanks to the support of the Nominet Trust, the Bedfordshire Police Partnership Trust, and the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation.

Aimed at young people aged 12 and 13 years old the play deals with a range of issues that are currently facing young people, with a particular focus on web safety and cyber bullying. The play follows the story of a teenage boy and his transition to High School from Middle School. Tensions fray as his best friend gradually becomes a victim to bullying. The forty minute performance is followed by a post performance workshop in which the issues raised are discussed and explored further. The play encourages young people to make their own decisions and judgements based on the scenarios that are presented to them.

‘A fantastic performance, held the attention of the pupils fully and they obviously enjoyed it. Very clear messages. Fantastic.’
PSHE co-ordinator Margaret Beaufort Middle School comments on a previous production

With over ten years of past experience Full House has shown that using theatre to raise awareness and provoke thought is a great way for young people to engage in a debate with relevance to their own lives. The success of this project was proved in 2010 during a previous tour of Bedfordshire schools which showed that over 66% of pupils admitted the play made them think differently about cyber bullying.
