Our approach to funding


  • Nominet Trust exists for the people who would benefit from the projects and organisations we support.


  • We place a high value on innovation in the use of the internet to achieve our charitable objectives.


  • We support organisations who can demonstrate a commitment to impact and effectiveness.


  • We back projects which can scale and be replicated, and organisations who share this aim.


  • We encourage knowledge sharing between applicants to reduce unnecessary duplication and to promote best practice.


  • We value partnership and collaboration.


  • We generally support projects which run between six months and three years


  • We do not finance hardware procurement projects (hardware should make up no more than 5% of a project budget, if at all).


  • We do fund overheads and core costs: project budgets should be detailed and transparent.


  • There is no minimum grant application and in some circumstances applications for over £100,000 may require an interview. In addition we may request meetings for any grant application.
