The 'Connect' projects helps older carers

GRCC has been successfully running the Connect project since April 2011 with funding from the Nominet Trust. The aim of the project is to help anyone over the age of 55 and living in Gloucestershire to use a computer and get ‘online.’ Connect aims to help people, especially those living in the more rural areas of the county at whatever their level of ability and experience, to become more confident in using a computer and the internet.

Connect - helping older people to get online

The Connect project has been running at GRCC in Gloucestershire since April 2011. The aim of the project is to get people 55 years or older online. So far we have helped over 350 people with a team of volunteers who have visited people at thier homes or in community buildings during group sessions. more >

iKnowHow: building a wiki for the voluntary sector – part one

KnowHow NonProfit , part of NCVO, is the online hub for nonprofit people to learn and share what they have learnt with others. It provides support on anything and everything to do with running a nonprofit. In 2011 they received a grant from Nominet Trust to explore how community editing (wikis) could be used by the voluntary sector to share knowledge.
