Looking to the future

In a flourishing digital era, some people may find it difficult to believe that so many people still struggle to get themselves online. Smart phones, andriod tablets and Pc's continue to drop in price and it may seem that everyone in the street owns one. Unfortunately for many people living in areas most affected by deprivation, the need of the internet and the knowledge of how to use such an extensive tool can be lacking and other needs take priority.

A pipeline of prospects is being built; interest from local authorities, housing associations, charities and health and social care organisations. Conversion is another matter considering the climate. There is competition - Rally Round, Caucus, Jointly, Know your own Health, etc. - however; Tyze's end-user focus has a more B2C look ‘n’ feel and the responsive, user-led developments should keep it one step ahead. more >

I remember my first day at the School for Social Entrepreneurs like it was yesterday. 20 of us, all dressed up to the nines, assessing each other, trying to impress, and trying not to give away how nervous we were. Over the next 11 months, these strangers would become friends and colleagues; social businesses would be planned and built, and there would be laughter and tears.
