The best ideas always seem to come in the rain! Cyberbarn was conceived during a very wet motorbike ride home from a Broadband Delivery UK meeting in July in Cumbria, and the idea is now reality as we go into Get Online week, just a few short months later.

#Cyberbarn is situated on a working farm in Upper Eden in Cumbria - we even have a cow viewing window! It has already become more than just a Get Online Outreach centre as it has triggered a variety of ideas to bring together skills within and for the benefit of the community. For instance, independent financial advice, bulk heating oil purchase, renewable energy projects - none of which would seem at first glance to have much to do with Getting Online, but the centre is starting to act as a hub for such ideas. more >
