iKnowHow: building a wiki for the voluntary sector (part four)

Today I am blogging from the NCVO conference where we've given a sneak preview of iKnowHow to all attendees. 

Stuart Etherington, CEO of NCVO mentioned our project in his State of the Sector address. He said: ‘we believe that this will enable people in the sector to share their knowledge and expertise like never before’. A real vote of confidence and optimism in an otherwise tough speech. 

We've talked to lots of people today and been able to explain what iKnowHow is about. It's been really great to hear that those in the voluntary sector are as excited as we are.

We're very happy too to see our wiki in reality; very attractive and user friendly as intended.

Many of the conversations we have been having at the conference have been around what makes you get engaged online. We had some useful insights today as well as from our last blog. Most of these centre around the importance of it being extremely easy to engage and to have a visibly lively community. But as the success of this project relies so heavily on the engagement of the voluntary sector we wanted to try something more…

Given the length of our project we decided to look at what online incentives were already out there and have found a great scheme to partner with. More next week when we will be launching iKnowHow to the world. Watch out for full details then.
