IT is a piece of cake at Jackie's Place

There was always going to be an added bonus to setting up an internet drop in session in a café, but the cakes and hotpots have really attracted the learners to Jackie’s Place in Wythenshawe.

We were delighted when Nominet Trust & UK Online Centres came to film our work in December, and the warming hotpot was just the tonic on a cold winters day.

Our work at Jackie’s Place started with a bang (literally if  you follow our blog at http://jackiesplacem23.wordpress.com/ with the trainer bumping her car) with local students offering to flyer the estate. We were thrilled when 4 people were queuing for our session to start on 4th October.

Since we have continued to offer a free drop in session in Jackie’s Place and it has gone down really well. Our overall plans were always that Jackie’s Place is a shop window for our services in the Wythenshawe community. As hoped, this has allowed us to attract interest from community groups such as the MS society and the local U3A group. Our outreach work has seen us train over 50 people since October and we are really excited to have trained two digital champions to carry on this work. Thanks to the purchase of reconditioned laptops and 3 mobile mifi we are looking forward to the year ahead.

You can keep up with our work and pictures at http://jackiesplacem23.wordpress.com/ or on twitter at www.twitter.com/JackiesPlaceM23

Naturally like your web-site but you have to check the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very troublesome to tell the reality then again I will surely come again again.
