More than just funding

“Knowing that Nominet Trust is not just a funder, but has a full support package in place to support projects in meeting their objectives is great and makes it more like a partner.”
Gavin Edmonds, Community & Business Initiative Officer, Dunedin Canmore

We regularly support small organisations who are attempting to tackle big social problems with limited backing and capacity.  Which is why, we aim to build that capacity by providing a range of business planning and communications support.  In collaboration with trusted partners, we aim to:

  • research the needs of their end user community
  • share project results with influencers and organisations aiming to achieve similar goals
  • raise awareness of social issues identified by their project
  • develop their organisation through training and business planning support
  • identify, pitch for and secure further investment.

We also facilitate regular networking sessions, giving project partners an opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences and identify opportunities for collaboration.

This ‘funder +’ approach demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that our projects realise their full potential and make a significant difference to the greatest number of people.

Project partners can currently take advantage of:

The Nominet Trust Accelerator Programme with Merism Capital

Starting mid-September 2011, our project partners can take advantage of our Accelerator Programme delivered by Merism Capital. Through this partnership we will deliver a seminar series on how to scale up a social enterprise and also how to pitch for investment. Project partners also benefit from access to mentors and experts who can help them address specific challenges facing their organisation.

Communication support via Media Trust

In partnership with Media Trust, we are currently offering selected project partners a package of communications support including a bespoke communications audit, specialist mentoring, places on training courses and specific advice to meet their needs.
