Troo Life Coach: helping teenagers develop a healthy mindset

Problems at school, fights with friends, worries about weight – there’s a lot that might be stressing out today’s teenagers. Solutions tend to focus on just one part of the problem, but now a new app called Troo Life Coach is harnessing a host of innovative technology to help teenagers make the right choices for a healthier, happier future.

The app brings together neuroscience, behavioural economics, psychology and artificial intelligence to offer personalised support through a young person’s smartphone. The app engages each teenager by building trust and creates specialised surveys (presented as games) to establish their physical, educational, emotional, social and ethical health.

Identifying needs, offering solutions

Using this information Troo can identify teenagers’ specific needs and offer solutions. For example, with a technique called Natural Language Processing, Troo will identify what is worrying a teenager and offer up curated content. Troo also motivates them to make healthier decisions through challenges that reward health achievements through points that give them a stake in the CIC that has a 20% ‘golden share’ in Troo Life Coach Ltd.

Troo has already been selected for the Innovation Showcase of the World Innovation Summit on Health, and with funding from Nominet Trust there’s the potential to help a new generation of teenagers make choices for healthier lives.
